De dansen voor ons bal op 16 november zijn bekend. Onze danslerares Diana Campbell Jewitt heeft weer geprobeerd om er een afwisselend bal van te maken, met een aantal longways, een wals en een paar quadrilles. De dansbeschrijving van Hart´s Allendale quadrille is al bijna twee eeuwen niet uit het archief geweest! Een aantal dansen zal voor de meeste personen niet bekend zijn, maar we zijn ervan overtuigd dat het Diana zal lukken om iedereen te laten meedansen. Van een aantal dansen hebben wij de dansomschrijving bijgevoegd. Ook hebben we een paar filmpjes kunnen vinden, hoewel van sommige alleen de Schotse versie. Het is mogelijk dat afhankelijk van het verloop van de avond niet alle dansen aan bod zullen komen. Alvast veel voorpret gewenst!
Our dance instructor Diana Campbell Jewitt has shared with us which dances we will learn and dance on the night of the Masquerade Ball on November 16th. The dances range from a couple of longways to a waltz and some quadrilles. The dance instructions for Hart´s Allendale quadrille have not left the archive for almost two centuries! Some of the dances might not be very familiar, but we have no doubt that Diana will be able to teach them well so that everybody can join in. We have found instructions and videos of a couple of dances, even though some are Scottish versions. There might be a possibility that there will not be enough time to dance all the dances on the evening of the ball. Have fun practicing at home!
